Becoming Swedish - the fool's guide

As a Kiwi struggling to swim in a new land, I've decided to share some of my thoughts and experiences about life as an expat in Sweden. I hope that I can be fair and honest about life here. But, be warned, I'm still in that slightly cynical phase. And this blog serves to vent my frustrations at times. However, hopefully there are some tips for others on the highs, lows, traps and pitfalls of starting out afresh in Sweden. You can be the judge. As for me, I arrived in Sweden 12 months ago. So I'm still finding my feet. Sweden is a big country and individual experiences will differ depending on where you are based. My thoughts and advice are taken from a life in the North. I am fortunate to have the love and assistance from my Swedish born wife. But you soon realise quickly that you're not at home, and life will never be the same again. The adventure begins.
